The Founder

Sandra Stanley

 

Sandra Stanley is a native of Fort Worth, Texas and the single mother of two adult children.  She attended Tarrant County Junior College, where she received her certificate of respiratory therapy technician and practiced in the Tarrant County Hospital District for over 20 years.  During this time she also attended UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas and received her B.S. of Allied Health Education in 1995. 

Within the past 20 years, her community involvement has included serving on the board of directors for the American Lung Association for 10 years, Director of Minority Outreach for the North Texas Region of the American Lung Association, President and Vice-President of the Continuity of Care, Ft. Worth, Texas, and Chair of NESEAM Senior at Home Program.  She has also implemented educational programs such as the Better Breathing Club at John Peter Smith Hospital, N.A.D.O.N (National Association of Director of Nurses) at Kindred Hospital, and coordinated Case Management Connection all of which originated in Fort Worth, Texas.  Along with these programs, she has also participated in various fundraising activities which included the Alzheimer’s Memory Walk (Team Leader), and served as Walk Chair for the Walk to Fight Asthma in 1998.      

Currently she serves on the executive planning committees for Senior Day at the Zoo and Senior Health and Wellness Fair.  She is a member of the Potter’s House Church in Dallas, Texas, where she serves on the Hospital and Prison Ministries.

God has given her this great vision to start an organization for women in need. This organization would be a resource for women that are broken inside and suffering from low self-esteem, single parents, divorce, jobless, teenage girls and ex offender returning to the community. Opening Doors For Women In Need a new 501c tax exempt nonprofit program.
